One distillery,
one philosophy,
spirits that give you everything.

"Nothing. Everything. Niets"

In Dutch, niets means nothing.

It's an odd name for a drinks company, we know. But it's the most honest thing we could say, and honesty is where everything at Niets begins.

We built this distillery on a single, quietly radical idea: that the greatest drinks ever made don't need alcohol to be extraordinary. That flavour, complexity, ritual, and pleasure were never alcohol's to own.

The result is a glass that gives you everything. The nose. The depth. The finish. The ritual of a great drink, the pleasure of a considered moment, the freedom of a clear head the morning after.

Look into the glass, and you'll find that nothing is everything.

— the cellar's ledger

A century, condensed.

1898
On the banks of the Thames, Georges Niets opens a small atelier. One table. Three pots. An obsession with botanicals, extraction, and precision. No ambition for scale — only for perfection.
1908
His work travels. Concentrated aromatic extracts. Encapsulated recipes. Across Europe, scent houses, flavour laboratories, and distillers adopt his creations — while his methods remain out of reach.
1948
The atelier crosses to Belgium. The knowledge moves intact. A quiet craft, uninterrupted.
2017
Four generations later, Alex opens Georges’ notebooks. An endurance athlete, he looks for balance — something worth drinking, without compromise. The market has no answer. The pages do.
2019
Doors close. Again and again. Until one opens. An 83-year-old distiller agrees to try. Eighteen months. Hundreds of trials. One result: a spirit, fully distilled, at 0.0%. Nothing missing.
2020
Niets Distillery is founded in Brussels. First batch: 300 litres. First bottles: gone in a week — adopted by Michelin-starred kitchens. A category begins to shift.
2021
Havaniets arrives. A new expression of dark spirits — one that demands time, and earns its place. From first pours to bar standards. The brand steps into the street. Into travel retail. Into culture.
2022
Manifesto 2.0. New products. New markets. New model. From Brussels to the world. One century later — the same obsession, uncompromised.
— the niets philosophy

Removing the alcohol is the easy part.
Keeping the drink is the craft.
